FRIDAY AUGUST 10TH Starts at 7:45pm
Takes place in the field at the Foundation of Light, on Turkey Hill Road in Ithaca, NY
Bring a pin light to read by, and a reading, poem or song to share. One share per person, that lasts a minute or so usually works, but bring extra if you want. We will gather at about 7:45 in front of the main building Before walking over to the field and fire area. we join in a brief creative ritual, created to honor the light and wisdom within each of us. there will be designated "Fire Angels" to make sure they stay safe and lit, and dowsed well at the end.
The idea is for each person to bring a poem, short reading, or song to share around the fire. Hopefully everyone will bring one that is thoughtfully chosen, and expresses the positive insights each have gained during the previous year. The various ways one copes with hardships, and maintains the ability to remain open, loving, and grateful to be alive, is what we are sharing here. Our creative abilities help us to view our experiences in ways that keep us in the light, and able to effect positive changes individually and in our community. This is a time to pause, honor, and share our own insights and art around that journey. If you don't have any poems or songs that you have written, draw from something you found during the year and were inspired by.
